Rangpur Metropolitan City is one of the newly formed city corporations in Bangladesh. It is a divisional city of Rangpur, which is composed of the greater Rangpur and Dinajpur districts, in addition to the status of a city corporation.Being located almost at the center of the eight districts of Rangpur division, Rangpur metropolis has vast tourism potential not only as an ancient city but also for administrative, economic, and geographical reasons.Although the number of places for sports has decreased due to unplanned urbanization, the number of places for leisure and entertainment in Rangpur has not decreased much. Several open and commercial tourism and entertainment centers have been established in the Rangpur metropolitan area by government and private initiatives. By taking effective steps to overcome the geographical, cultural and other problems of these tourism centers and taking steps for timely development, the sustainable development and growth of Rangpur metropolitan area is possible.
