Beyond restoring function, characterized dentures address esthetic concerns that strongly influence patient satisfaction and self-confidence. Conventional dentures, while functional, often appear artificial and fail to mimic the natural variations of oral tissues. This article compiles current literature on denture characterization, including internal and external techniques, and presents a case report of a 62-year-old male rehabilitated with a characterized complete denture. The patient reported significant improvement in esthetics, function, and confidence, highlighting the importance of characterization in complete denture therapy.
