Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 marks a transformative moment in India’s education system, seeking to reform the system from early childhood education to higher learning and research. While the policy has been analysed through pedagogical, political, and administrative perspectives, not much attention has been paid to the underlying sentiment and tone of the document itself. Policy documents are not merely technical instruments but they also serve as vehicles of vision, aspiration, and ideology. This study applies sentiment analysis, a computational linguistic method, to examine how NEP 2020 constructs its rhetorical positioning. By quantifying polarity and subjectivity across its chapters, the research highlights the distribution of positive, neutral, and aspirational language within the policy framework.
