A Review of Cellular Network Mobility Management: The Pathway to 5G Technology
Prabhakar Rath1; Smita Rani Parija2; Soumya Mishra3A key component of mobile computing is location management, which includes tracking and registering mobile terminals inside a mobile network. The act of recording the location is called "location update," and the process of exploring it is called "paging." There are several ways to manage location, such as mobility-based strategies, data replication-based strategies, signal attenuation during tracking, and time-, zone-, and distance-based strategies for location updates. This study compares and analyzes current location management systems, paying special attention to how much money each one uses. Lastly, significant issues regarding location management for mobile networks of the future are discussed.
